Robert Elliot made his way from the jeep towards the medic tents. It was the allies camp and he sure felt at ease with his own men, Americans, British and the mix up. But Robert's bright blue eyes somehow always found their way towards the fields and forests, always alert. He wasn't sure if that was an alright thing, to be paranoid or not. His brother Richard had that trait, Robert only hoped he hadn't picked it up. In most situations Robert was cool headed and calm.
A few men gave salutes as he passed them, Robert returned them. Nearing the flap of the tent his eyes grew narrow he heard groans and found himself chewing on his bottom lip before entering. Robert never liked the medic tents, he always hated seeing men injured or worse. But he needed to do a day check up, just to make sure everything was going alright.
He couldn't see his captain or second lieutenant anywhere inside the dreary tent so he'd have to ask a nurse or at least a Doctor. Scanning the tent the doctor was no where to be seen, odd. Robert gave a sigh and removed his hat running a hand through the shock of red hair. His blue eyes finally settled on a dark haired nurse with lively eyes. He walked up beside her hands folded behind his back.
"Mame, I'm First Lieutenant Robert Elliot, American, I'm just checking in for my Captain, can you tell me how the day has been so far?" he inquired. He leaned in slightly to get a better look at her face, but she was turned to the side. Robert waited for an answer, it was about 1:00 in the afternoon, and the sun had yet to set.

Marilyn heard a voice behind her. it was low and seemed almost stressed, but lovely sounding non-the less. placing her pen on her report she turned to look at the solider addressing her. Her dark brown eyes widened at the sight of him. Red hair, blue eyes and tall. Marilyn's dream man rolled into one. Shaking her head, it was work time.
Taking a breath she spoke in an even tone. her dark brown hair was in a ponytail so it wouldn't get in her face, but she did have some bangs. "Today, Lieutenant Elliot has been fairly good, mind you there were a couple serious injuries but nothing we couldn't handle." Catching a glace at him from the Corner of her eye. she surveyed the tent, most people in the tent were recovering, then being sent back out to battle."Most of the men you see here will be ready for battle within the next day or so." she spoke as she dusted off her uniform witch was stained with dirt and blood from the previouse day. Witch was a very long and painful day.
Marilyn went around to all the soliders who were awake and asked how they were doing. Most of then were filled with rage for being shot in the first place and wanted to get back out there. some of them even tried to get up. but a strong hand and gentle voice Marilyn pushed them back down. Walking back to Robert she flashed him a smile. "What else can i do for you today?"

Robert's blue eyes watched as the blacked haired nurse made her rounds to tend to the men. A slight smirk appeared upon his lips as she showed kindness for the men. When she came near him Robert straightened up hands still behind his back. As his bright blue eyes took in her pale skin and raven black hair he tried his best not to stare but his eyes flickered quickly over her frame.
Not trying to be rude Robert cleared his throat and made a frown "thats good news about the men" he said smiling keeping as professional as possible. Although it was hard in the presence of such a radiant nurse. Robert kept his eyes upon her but forced his gaze to focus on her once more "no, nothing that I can think of mame" he responded. He hesitated for a moment before deciding to ask her another question. "May I ask how long you have been here ms?" he inquired, wanting to know her last name.

"Eastwood, Marilyn Eastwood." curtsying she smiled. "A pleasure to meet you" her eyes trailing up his form she reached his eyes. So blue, someone could get lost. Blinking and shaking her head she cast her gaze downward. Trying to regain her balance Marilyn leaned up against her medical table her sheets and pen fell to the ground. "oh, darn."
Kneeling down Marylin confessed to herself that she didn't look her best at the moment her medical smock was tattered, dirty and smeared with blood. Trying franticly to pick up her papers and not to look like a fool in front of the most beautiful solider she has ever seen. It was weird Marilyn never let any man get to her like this. But something told her that he was different.

Marilyn, what lovely name Robert thought to himself, a lovely name for a lovely woman. He kept a faint smile upon his lips his grey blue eyes focused on only her. If someone had been calling him he would not have heard, this woman was very striking. Robert was soon snapped back to reality when a pen and a few papers flew to the floor, it was Marilyn that caused it. Walking over to where the nurse was crouched Robert crouched his fingers taking the pen and reaching for the papers.
"It's alright no harm done, things like this happen" he stated trying to make her feel slightly less embarrassed. He gave a nervous chuckle when he raised his gaze realizing how close they both were. In what was a few seconds staring at one another felt like minutes. Chewing on his bottom lip Robert still remained crouched and held his hand out for Marilyn to take "make sure next time those are medical tools" Robert joked giving a snicker.

Smiling to herself she looked up. realizing how close they were, her eyes locked with his, the seconds felt like an eternity. Her brown eyes looking deep into his. those blue eyes of her dream man. Hoping that it wasn't dream Marilyn thought he was getting closer. Her cheeks flushed. "is he really...." he thought trailed off her emotion taking hold.
She wanted him so bad, she needed him. it had been a long many years with out the touch of a man. not that she really needed it, his touch was different. It ignited something with in her that she hadn't felt before. closing her eyes she let her emotion drive her. Leaning in she gently kissed his lips. He felt soft and warm. Opening her eyes she realized that it wasn't a dream. She was in her medical tent surrounded by sleeping soldiers. Standing up abruptly she placed her hand on mouth.
her eyes bright with surprise, and glossy with the threat of oncoming tears. 'What did i do?' was the thought that came to mind.

Robert was ready to help Marilyn to her feet when he noticed her getting closer and closer till her lips brushed his, it was warm and soft. His blue grey eyes wide in surprise he pulled back his mouth open in shock. Standing after she did his eyes remained locked on he.r What did this woman think, that kissing a random stranger was an ok thing. No it wasn't, and it sure wasn't classy.
Robert still in shock from the embrace placed a hand over his mouth his eyes darting to the sleeping solders. He waited a moment before lowering his hand "what were you thinking mame, that was highly forward and very uncalled for" he stated his voice now serious but still calm. Robert wasn't a man to become angry, but he was rather upset now, that was very random and uncalled for.
Well at least thats what he told himself as a solider and lieutenant in the army. He swallowed a lump that had formed in his throat and gave a quick nod to the nurse preparing to leave the medical tent. By rights he should report her, but Robert decided against it, the woman was probably under alot of stress, but still that was no excuse to kiss strangers.

It was weird. She would never do that. it just wasn't Marilyn. she felt ashamed and broken. She wasn't to apologies but wasn't sure if it would be enough. Backing up one hand bracing herself on the table the other blocking her mouth for fear that if she removed it she would scream. not trusting her own vocal cord to even apologies though she could see that he was upset. though he face didn't show it. Marilyn could tell. 'Maybe the stress of the war is finally getting to me" she thought..
Looking around the room she wanted to scream and run. but that wasn't her style, neither was kissing random guys. clearing her throat Marilyn dropped her hand. her eyes still gleaming with unshed tears. "Lieutenant Elliot I do have to apolojise..." Marilyn paused not sure what to say. Straighting her papers she placed them neatly on the table behind her. taking a beep breath she let is escape her lips. Turning her back she began to tend or a waking solider.

Robert folded his hands behind his back he remained that way silent for a long time watching as Marilyn turned her back away from him, good so he didn't have to speak to her about that awkwardness, he saw that as his cue to leave. Turning he didn't say a word just slipped out the front tent flap. Outside he let out a long frustrated sigh, war was a powerful thing, making men and women do things they never would have done without being in battle or around it. Robert so far wasn't one of those men.
The air was chill and Robert saw his breathe in front of his eyes. He turned to look over his shoulder to the shut medical tent flap. His brow furrowed before he heard his name, he looked back ahead of himself, it was his captian waving him over to a tent near by. Robert took a moment before making his way towards the group of men and his Capitan. He hoped he wouldn't have to deal with that medical tent for some time. The awkwardness would be too much for the both of them. FIN.
