Take your turn, take a ride on the merry-go-round, in an inhuman race Everyone was out and about for the Masquerade Ball and Minou had taken the day off to join the merry occassion. In a way, she played a part in the forming of this ball as she had been put in charge of entertainment, persay. It was not the same kind of entertainment that Elizabeth worked up or anyone that played an instrument, sang, or danced, but she was a bit more detailed. Tonight, she spent her time making men feel like men in the typical way that she did.
The best part happened to be her mask that she wore. It was not because she thought it was beautiful, which she did, actually, but it was because it hid her identity. To this crowd of babbling people, she was just another hidden face. No one judged her for her profession, no one cared that she was the local town prostitute, and the most well-respected of harletts as she could be. No one thought she was complimenting them because she was paid to, she had complete control of the dance floor.
Sweeping through, she danced with a few of the Germans and French, doing it gracefully. Naturally, she was not a dancer, but she had a good way of placing her hands where they needed to be to make the man forget. No, she was not that frisky, she would place her arms around his neck and gently caress his skin, then who cared how she danced? Some of the dances were slow, some of them called for a specific dance routine, like the waltz. Yet whatever song was played, Elizabeth's voice matched it perfectly. Minou could only tell it was her by the sound of her singing.
After finishing a dance with a young German, who by the looks of his chin and mouth (because that was all she could see) he was fairly attractive, she left the dance floor to use the restroom. While in the restroom, she took off her mask to ensure it did not leave any marks upon her face like some masks tended to do. There was a small imprint line on her face from where it sat on her nose, but other than that, she was rather fine, so she exited the restroom and took a few steps before remembering to put her mask back on. It was only a few seconds of it being off, but it was enough time to register who she was.
Looking around cautiously, it did not appear that anyone had noticed and if they did, they did not know who she was to begin with. Status wise, it was good to just be normal every once in a while. Deciding that it was time for some wine, she retired to the drink station and requested a glass. It was poured gently and passed to her and before she took a sip, she smelled it to ensure she would enjoy it. Keeping her glass in her hand, she took a seat and watched the dances going on, resisting the urge to clap after every song Elizabeth sang.

we were just wandering like fools
It was just her luck to be the escort of the one person who could probably see through her tricks. It really was just awful because now Bridget couldn't associate with anyone or be helpful in any way. Why? Because Landa was on to it, she was sure of it. And that was why he had asked her to be his date to the ball tonight. To keep up her charade of course she said yes but now she was really starting to worry. She had been fake smiling so much that night that her cheeks hurt. She looked great. She had bought the most divine dress for the occassion She knew she looked amazing but that still wouldn't help her in any way. Not with Landa. Landa who appread to not be interested in her in any way. She couldn't just get him drunk and make him feel happy like she usually did to extract some information and her charm was completely lost on him as usual. She sighed and took a sip of champagne. God, she needed to go to the bathroom. She excused herself and made her way towards the ladies' room. She could still feel his watchful eyes on her, making sure that it really was the bathroom she was going to. She rolled her eyes under her mask and entered the bathroom. She was not alone. She had recognized the other woman in the bathroom almost immiediately. Everyone in Paris (even a German) knew Eve. Or at leats knew of her. Bridgte had talked with the woman quite a few times being as they had a mutual friend and Eve seemed nice but she didn't know her very well. Bridget walked over to the mirror with a smile and said in her best French "I absolutely adore your dress. It looks stunning on you!". It was true Eve looked quite lovely that night.[/blockquote][/blockquote] Words: 316 Tagged: Minou Notes: Lyrics: Fools by The Dodos

Take your turn, take a ride on the merry-go-round, in an inhuman race As she fixed herself up, the bathroom door opened and she turned to find none other than Bridget von Hammersmark. There was nothing more relaxing than seeing a fellow woman stuck in a socially awkward situation. Eve was out trying to hide her identity through a masquerade mask because she was a prostitute and everyone knew her for that while Bridget hid her identity through her flawless acting because really, she was a German 'traitor'. No matter how the two ladies hid, Eve enjoyed seeing Bridget, even if she was wearing a mask too.
Bridget commented on Eve's dress and to remain respectful and as a good friend would, she went to kiss either side of Bridget's cheek, but did not actually touch the skin because of the mask, masquerading cheek kisses were odd. "Bridget! You look rather stunning as well, but Merci,"
she smiled. Truely, there was no way in hell one could say a prostitute looked better than an actress, especially not one as beautiful as Frau von Hammersmark. While Eve had been dancing with everyone, she happened to notice who accompanied Bridget for the evening and it raised some curiousity. While Colonel Hans Landa was a rather attractive man, slightly shorter than Eve enjoyed, and she would flirt with him like she did with anyone else, Landa just so happened to be the last person anyone who affiliated with the Basterds would ever want to run in to. Of course, Bridget could play it off to the public eye, but who knew what went through Landa's head, he could see through anyone it seemed. "You're date is quite the attractively keen eye," she said, the words 'keen eye' had been said in a subtle voice as if to imply that Landa watched her closely, which he did.[/blockquote][/blockquote] ---------------------------------------------------- words: three hundred tags: Bridget Hammersmark NPCs: none summary: I brainfarted so it's short... quote: Masquerade Ball from The Phantom of the Opera outfit: dress, mask
